more to the story...
I recieved this information yesterday. While mom was getting doctored up, Naomi was playing mommy. She could hardly wait for my friend to get her son Ranan out of his seat and even tried to feed him some of her play food.

OUCH!
I also have a story that my daughter will be hearing for many years to come (especially if I get a good scar).
Now for the story...
I was vacuuming and saw that Naomi had ventured up stairs. so i went to check on her. At first glance I could not find her. Then i heard her knocking on the bathroom door. She can't open the doors yet(she is a smidgen too short) so i went to let her out. The door was locked!
I laughed. (great mom huh?)
I tried an assortment of objects that i had close by, a pin, seam ripper, a hair clip, a skewer, and a bobby pen. nothing worked. So I called Adam (who was at work).
"So your daughter is locked in the bathroom, Any sugestians?"
We decided the next plan of action was for me to climb out out second floor bedroom window and into our bathroom window. There is a resemblance of a "balcony" out there and our bathroom window has some issues so it would be easy to "break into."
"Give me call back when you get her out." he says.
So I open the window, push the glass storm window up to the top notch, and as I am fiddling with screen....
I hear the guillotine
I scream and grab my hand.
I race down stairs leaving drops of blood in my wake.
I get to the kitchen and try to get my hand under the water to see the damage.
I then find my cell phone.
"Honey, change of plans...I need you to get home now. The window fell on my hand and split my fingers open. Naomi is still in the bathroom."
The next 15-30 minutes are filled with me calling friends trying to get someone over to a) get Naomi out of the bathroom and b) watch her while I head to the doctors (Thank you Lord! There was an opening).
Once I have a friend on the way, a Dr. appointment ("your appointment is at 11 but get here as soon as you can") and had slowed the bleeding down, I decided to try to get the door off (no I had not though of this sooner).
As Adam arrived home I was coming up the stairs with a screwdriver. he grabed it and went upstairs. put it in the key hole and the door unlocked(grrr).
Naomi had been wonderful the whole time. The only thing she got into was some lotion. otherwise she just lied on the floor and played with her tub toys.
Fast froward about 15 minutes
At the doctors the x-ray my hand and numb me. I got 5 stitches and found out I had a Tuft fracture. This means that I fractured the very tip of my finger.
I think my favorite quote form the Dr's office was: "It is a lot easier if you numb the patient before you explore the wound. Another thing is that you probably don't want to use the work explore around the patient either. It tends to put them on edge." This was the doctor teaching a resident (or something like that).
That's my story...and I'm sticking to it!
PS forgive any mistyping/misspellings etc. I can only type with one hand right now.
