Yesterday we got Adam a new toy.
The previous night he was going on and on about this toy he found... Finally I said "Just buy it. We said you would get one. We have the money saved. It's such a good price. Just buy it!"
So the price was negotiated. A pick up time established and we headed off for a great adventure. We needed a trailer for this toy. A small one. My car cannot haul much at all. There is even a specific trailer that would have worked. So we stopped at several places and repeatedly turned down a 5x8 trailer. This trailer
by itself was 200 lb
over my towing limit. We called the "main office" to try to get the specific trailer. However the rental place (which will remain unnamed) said that we could not take it one way. So they set us up with a 5x8 trailer! I questioned them about the weight..."Oh it will work fine."
Later...
We pick up the trailer (after asking about the weight issue)
Two miles down the road...
Just before we get to the rendezvous place to pick up the toy...
My car DIES...
It's over heated.
Adam walks to make the deal. Our daughter gets to play on a church front lawn for about an hour in 99 degree temps with a 87% humidity.

Poor thing! She was a real trooper!
We also made a friend.

This poor little squirrel is lacking a little bit of his tail. He let us play under his shady tree! Thanks!
OK. I'll speed things up. Car still would not start.
Road side assistance would not help. ("Didn't you check the weight limit? Personal vehicles are not covered")
Local rental place sent a truck to pick up the trailer.
Car still would not work. We have to find AC and water.
Adam goes ahead. Sends us on our way to
Arby's.
After walking over a mile with a toddler, diaper bag, and a camera bag we reach our destination.
Adam is there. We drink, cool off, and eat supper.
New game plan established.
Adam gets the car. I get a
Jamocha shake. We go back for the toy.
We drive home.
All for ...
This...

A 2003 Nighthawk 750
I'll post more pictures of it tomorrow. Blogger won't let me upload any more.
