Where to start... hmmm
Well we are still waiting when it comes to Adam's job. The church where he works part-time is trying to sell some land. Once the land is sold they will bring Adam on staff full time. The land has a buyer...but we are now awaiting on the government to approve everything. It has to go through the government because of the size of the land sale. So we are waiting.
Adam was able to preach the first time at our new church. This was his seventh sermon. He did a pretty good job. The next time he preaches will be at the end of June. Unless the Pastor needs him before that.
The senior pastor at our church has announced he has stage 3 cancer. This is his second battle with cancer in the last two years. So they are going to hit him pretty hard this time. Please pray for him and his family.
We are currently being considered for two children for adoption. No, it is not a sibling group. One is a 10 month old girl. The other is a three year old boy. Both of these children have special needs. Should we be chosen for both, we do not feel we can take both of these children on at the same time. Honestly, we are leaning more towards the girl mainly so we can maintain birth order. Naomi has developed the only (oldest) child personality. She is very motherly when ever she is around babies.
It would be great to be selected finally. We have been in the system for 3 years now. But for us to get chosen it would certainly help if Adam had a full-time job.
The girl's staffing meeting is first. It will be at the end of June at the earliest. So we wait and pray.
Naomi has been battling a rash the past few weeks. I thought it was caused by the new laundry detergent. However, after seeing the doctor and putting hydrocortazone lotion. The rash had gotten better but not gone away. Yesterday we went for a follow-up visit. He suggested it could be a food allergy or that she was developing eczema. To check for food allergies she is not to eat any fruit and we will reintroduce them one by one.
After her nap, (which was 4 hours) she had a fever. It got up to 103 last night. So we will not be going to the church garage sale today.
Kids!
So here's to a day of snuggling and movies for this mama!

food!
God is truly amazing.
Adam and I came to the realization last night.
That we are in the worst state financially ever in our marriage.
My husband was laid off in august.
We moved.
He is a full time student at the seminary.
And yet...
our fridge is full...
Our freezer is STUFFED...(to the point there is no room to make ice)
our "pantry" is over flowing...
To the point we had to put food in the dish cabinet and even that is getting full!
We have more food now than ever before in our marriage.
God is so good.
We have had people through Nall provide Angel Food Ministry packages for us, even though we have left the church so Adam could accept a job with Basehor. Friends have provided gift cards and given us meals on occasion. Some have provided funds or prayer support!
We are ever so thankful for the provision given. We praise God for placing us on the hearts of His faithful servants. We pray that God will bless them for their faithfulness and willing hearts. We are so very thankful for those who are praying for us. God is answering prayers!

Birthday!
I know her birthday was a while ago. but I ahave been swamped. I was blessed to watch 2 little girls while their parents were in China. It was a bit crazy at times. I had 3 girls aged 1, 2, and 3.
To start Naomi got to have her first sleep over. For her second birthday! Not many can say that. but here are some highlights from Naomi's birthday...
Grand ma and Grandpa Brooks gave her a new bedding set. She was so excited she had to try it out immediately!
At the las minute I decided to go with a fish theme for her birthday party. you will sea why later... But here is my fish cake! You can't go wrong with M&M's
This would be why we went with the fish party. Naomi's "big present from Mama and Daddy was a fish. She was so excited she insisted on having breakfast with the Fish. All morning long she watched it and would run around saying fishhhhhhhhh, fishhhhhhhhh. (We did actually name it. the name is Pepe. Adam named it. He tried to name it Piscado to go along with our "spaninsh" named dog Rubia. I refused. I can only imagine how my 2 year old would pernounce it.)
Mommy and her 2 year old just before her party!
I am not exactly sure what this look is all about. She looks like she is up to something though.
As par tof the fish theme, I thought bubbles would be fun!
She opened presents like a pro. I felt bad because we kind of had to rush through them. She wanted to play with everything as she opened it.
See?
Over all it was a Beautiful day to celebrate one of the best gifts God has given me.

Weekend to Remember!
So we ran a way a while back. We truly enjoyed the time away as a couple and with friends. Adam and I rode down with one couple. We randomly stopped at an old mill we saw along the road.
we go to the hotel. It was nice!
One of the guys was able to upgrade our rooms to 2 room suites! It was Sweet!
Then we played...
We worked on our marriages...
We dated and discussed...
We waited on elevators...(a lot)
We called home to check on our kids...
And on the way home we celebrated!
We enjoyed the weekend.
The conference was a great excuse for a weekend away. We were able to reconnect and refresh ourselves. The Conference it's self was OK. I am not sure I would go again. I cannot say I gained any insight to how to improve my marriage. But there were some good reminders. Mostly it was a time to talk about What God is doing in our lives. And where we see things going. God is good!

My little Girl...
Is now 2!
Oh what will this mother do?
I shall dress her in blue,
And try not to cry boo-hoo
Oh my how the years have flew!
Happy Birthday Naomi!
We love you!
For the Lord you God is with you,He is mighty to save.He will take great delight in you,he will quiet you with his love,he will rejoice over you with singing.Zephaniah 3:17

Mama?
"Caya, Caya, Caya, Herry, ... Caya, Herry Caya."
She had been going like this for about 5 minutes, with a few "Noan" and "Eva"s thrown in. These are Naomi's version of some very dear friends. I have mentioned them before. But tonight she just went on and on...
"Caya, Herry, Herry, Nooooan (she likes drawing out Nolan), Caya, GO mama?"
"Harry and is at home with his mommy and daddy. Yes, Cayela is His mommy. No sweetheart, we are staying home."
she then wandered off. Next thing I know I hear a wrestling in the room. I find her doing this...
