Seeping
When it comes to seeping, sometimes I wish I could be a baby again. It seems as though they can sleep anywhere and in any position and have no consequences. Our 3 year old woke up with her first crick in her neck about a month a go. with the way she sleeps I was curious to see how long it would take. I remember when we moved her up to the big girl bed I was worried about her falling out. she always slept with one appendage hanging out of the crib.
Well it seems her sister may be the same way...
Lets get a diffrent angle....
We have found her like this twice now. I am not sure how her feet are not asleep. (Yes we are horrible parents who leave stuffed animals in her bed. and in my defense she was swaddled in that blanket when I laid her down for nap.)
Blessing #20 While at AWANA last night. We had stump the pastor night when the children could ask pastors/pastors-in-training questions about the bible or God. While answering a question the pastor was referencing a bible verse he asked her if she knew about the verse. Her response..."not yet." Not "no", but "not yet." This young girl knows that the importance of continuing to learn her bible and it sounded like she was interested in learning more.

Vanilla Sugar
Blessing #19
A new love...
Vanilla sugar in my coffee.
Yumm.
I had some vanilla beans left over from making my own vanilla so I decided to give this a try. Place the beans in a container and let it sit for a few days. The great thing is that you can add more sugar when you start running out. Also you can use it on fruit as well as a vanilla substitute.

Sisters turn
When I was taking Bethany's 6 month pictures Naomi was a big help! She really wanted to have her picture taken too. The nice thing about taking the girls pictures myself is that it was not a problem. All we needed was time (the rough part is getting them printed out in a timely manner). Which we had that particular day.
So here are the results of Naomi's photo shoot.
She was having some smiling problems. Lately If I ask her to smile she makes a funny forced looking smile. If you look at our Christmas picture you can kind of see it there.
I love the last one because she is so ornery looking.
Blessing #17 Belly dancing class. It is a lot of fun and last night there were only 2 of us in the class. Boy, am I sore today! It is good to know that I am working my muscles while having fun with friends and meeting new people.

kitchen help
Today's blessing was a "twofer."
Blessing #14 Kitchen Helpers
First was the fact that it seems that both my girls like to help in the kitchen. I was making some Peanut Butter bars for a friend and the girls helped.

Baby kisses!
Blessing #12 Baby kisses
Bethany started giving kisses today. It was so sweet! Before the night was over she had given everyone kisses. I will have to try to get a picture...I was just so busy enjoying the moment. So here is a picture from Christmas instead...
On another note. We cannot get that girl to sleep through the night. She was great for a while then all of a sudden she just can't do it. I am not talking about once. Nope she is up at least 3 times a night! So frustrating. I know sometimes it is necessary, but this is CRAZY! She did not wake up this much when she was a new born.
Any tips from the mommys out there? I would appreciate it. We have tried giving her cereal/food in the evenings. We limit naps in the evening and even keeping her up late. Baths in the evening with lavender lotion. The hard part is that it takes forever for her to cry it out and she shares a room with her sister.

Flowers in winter
Considering that my anniversary is on Sunday some might think that my wonderful husband gave me an early gift...
It is a single yellow flower, in a cut glass bowl.
Want to see it?
Here is is...
Ok, it is not from Adam. It is from Naomi. Beautiful isn't it!
Blessing #8 Treasure Bowl
I got the idea long before I was blessed with Naomi. An older woman in the church told me about her treasure bowl. Those of us with kids and those who remember being a kid know that when a treasure like a flower or a pebble are found you take it to mom or dad. So many times it is discarded for the several reasons, that there is not a long enough (or any) stem for many of the flowers that are picked by children and where do you put a pebble? This is where the treasure bowl comes in. fill it with water and the flower will just float around. There was one time this last summer when the bowl was full of floating flowers from my little girl. I display mine on the dinning room table so that we can all enjoy the flowers.
Naomi has not gotten in to finding rocks or pebbles yet but I am sure they will look great in the bowl.
Mine treasure bowl is a candy bowl given to me at our wedding. It had been sitting unused and I was on the verge of getting rid of it when my friend gave me this idea. Then I had to keep it for my kids some day! Boy am I glad I did! It is a great reminder of my little blessing(s).
Another blessing from to day? (blessing #9) Just that fact that Naomi found a flower in January! It was in the mid 60s today! We all went outside the only one with a coat was me and that was because i am still fighting a cold!

cold season
I was supposed to post last night...I went to bed early.... just could not make myself stay up. I thought I was starting to come down with a cold... And this morning I found that yes I did have a cold
My blessing (#7) for yesterday would be my bed. I love our bed. Last year while I was expecting we invested in a 2 inch memory foam. now that I can use the heating mattress pad that I got for Christmas last year I get to sink in to the warmth of my bed. Which is pretty warm considering we have no heat in our bedroom.
Poor Bethany woke up from her nap this afternoon with a fever too. Poor baby.
Here is a picture of Bethany on her first Christmas (not sick).

Happy New Year
Happy New Year from the Boyds!
I am excited to see what this year will bring. We already have a busy start to the year. I cannot go into it too much right now but I will make sure to fill you in later (hopefully tomorrow)!
Today's blessng...
Blessing #6...Snugly naps.
We all (yes all 4 of us) stayed up to see the new year. So we were all a little tired today. During church Bethany and I ended up in the cry room where she napped in my arms. After lunch everyone took a nap. it was so nice.
