5 Years!

Hmmm looks familiar some how......
Five years ago there was a NASTY ice/snow storm that passed through Kansas.
Five years ago my Texan family traveled to the frozen north.
Five yeras ago I had NO idea how CRAZY my live would become.
Five years ago my life became a musical.
Five years ago I vowed to be faithful and true.
Five years ago I changed my last name.
Five years ago I married my best friend!

My life sure has changed a lot in five years...

I graduated Collage (GO K-STATE)
I have endured My husband being layed off 2 times.
I have lived in 5 different cities. ( I thought we were going to stay put)
I have lost a grandmother.
I now own a Dog. (this is major...I strongly disliked dogs growing up)
I have lived in 4 rentals and owned a house for 2 years!
I have gained an extensive network of friends that spans the state of KS.
I have worked in 2 day care centers. ( I thought I was going to work with high school age)
I have waited on God's perfect timing.
I have have seen God answer numerous prayers, and experienced it myself.
I am a stay at home mom and I LOVE it. (Would not have it any other way. Even with a degree)
I became a mother.
I have been "in the system" to adopt for 2.5 years(ish).
I (we) have been considered to adopt a child 2 times.
I live about a mile from where I lived when I was little. (I did not want to live in KC again).

I have seen God move in awesome and amazing ways in my life, My husband's life and in our marriage. I thank Him for bringing Adam and I together. These past 5 years have been rough, yet filled with so many blessings! I can't wait to see what Plans God has for us in the next 5 years...and the 5 years after that ...and the 5 years after that....well, you get the picture

What therefore God hath joined together, let no man put asunder.

May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble!
May the name of the God of Jacob protect you!
May he send you help from the sanctuary
and give you support from Zion!
May he remember all your offerings
and regard with favor your burnt sacrifices!
Selah

May he grant you your heart’s desire
and fulfill all your plans!
May we shout for joy over your salvation,
and in the name of our God set up our banners!
May the LORD fulfill all your petitions!

Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed;
he will answer him from his holy heaven
with the saving might of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
They collapse and fall,
but we rise and stand upright.

O LORD, save the king!
May he answer us when we call.

Psalm 20

Tired!

The past week has been crazy! We have taken two trips to KC to look for a place to live. Inbetween trips we
  • visited Adam's dad. There he worked on some landscaping with his dad and brother while I chased a VERY cranky toddler around.
  • We then headed to the Newton area for my friend Alison's wedding. It was awesome!
  • We were only home for about 12 hours between the wedding and the second trip to KC.
  • Oh and the AC in the van went out while we were on our second trip.
I have no idea why I am exhausted. (note the sarcasm?)
Of course I took pictures. I downloaded 300. This does not include all of the ones I deleted while I was shooting. Pretty impressive huh? Here is just a sampling:

We have found a place to live (now we just have to wait through the application process.) This could get sketchy because Adam does not currently have a job. We would appreciate your prayers very much. If all goes according to our plan we are hoping to move next Tuesday and Wednesday. We should hear about the duplex soon. When we do I will make sure to tell you about it. It is going to be tight for all of us the next 3 years!

Your ways are not our ways! You have a plan and we are. I just need to rest in those promises. You, Father, will take care of us because you love your children. Lord, help me to hand all my concerns, frustrations, and worries over to you! Thank you for all you have done for me. Amen

Wedding bells are ringing!

I am getting ready for a wedding right now...Please leave a message...Beep
These two crazy kids are getting married!

I am so excited for them.
They originally were going to have to wait untill 2012 (or something crazy like that) to tie the knot!   But God intervened and now they get to enjoy wedded bliss well before that!  Thank you Lord!
"But from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’ ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh.  Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."    Mark 10:6-9

My uncle's (crazy) wedding

We privilege of attending my uncle's wedding this last weekend. My uncle and his bride are well, a bit unique. For my uncle it is his second marriage. His youngest child is 18. My new aunt has never been married. The ceremony was very elegant and I wish them the best.

Now to explain the crazy part...

We arrived at the specified time for family pictures (2:30). No pictures were taken at this time. We arrived before the bride and groom (they were supposed to have been there for at least an hour). I had good time talking with various family members and taking laps on the stairs. Naomi figured out how to climb stairs (and later anything).

Once the bride and groom arrived they rushed through a semi-rehearsal (probably why they seemed lost during the ceremony).

While I was visiting with my uncle he was expressing his gratitude for us coming to the wedding. then he says..."We are just making things official." AGHHHH! TMI! I really did not need to know this!

I truly enjoyed the quartet playing 'Danny Boy" for the unity candle lighting.

Family pictures were taken after the ceramony, by family groops. No big group, but a bunch of small ones. "Oh! We forgot to get a picture with the groom's children!"

I got may tips on how I could open a cake decorating or photography buisness. (I have only taken one class and I have owned this camera for lass than a month!)

There was an insident with my dad, sister, and my daughter that made my sister turn as red as her dress.

I appreciated the ballroom dancing lesson provided at the reception.

And my daughter learned how to dance. This was CRAZY cute.

And now some random pics from the wedding.

One of my aunts and her grandaughter.

My grandfather was trying to talk another uncle into giving the toast
(My grandfather was the best man)
Oh and the shaggy guy? He's my cosin.

Yummm cake!
(The only thing she would eat from the reception.)

I am not really sure what she is doing...
