Job update

I was trying to come up with a clever way of announcing it. But I have not made the time to. So...

Adam has accepted a job with New Beginnings Baptist! The position is Administration/Youth pastor. To start it is a VERY part-time (10hrs/week) with VERY limited pay. However they are trying to sell some land in Bonner Springs. Once it sells they will be able to bring Adam on full time. So in 30 days they are going to renegotiate Adam's pay and hours depending on how the sale of the land goes.

Today was his first "full day" at work. It will take a bit of time to get used to Him not being here. But I am also ready for some resemblance of a schedule of my choosing. It has been fun having Adam around so much. But I think we are all ready for him to be back at work.

Thanks for all of your prayers and support. God has continually provided for us in this time. We believe this is the path we are to take. We are prayerful that The land will be sold quickly so that Adam can work full time.

Uphold my steps in Your paths,
That my footsteps may not slip.
Psalm 17:5

We got something in the works! (job related)
Details are being ironed out.
Look for an update soon!

Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
         I will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him,
         And show him My salvation.”
Psalm 91:14-16

Quote of the day...

Adam: "Daughter you are going to waste away!" (She was not eating supper)
Naomi:"Bye-bye"

Yep it is a repeat photo.  I am still figuring out the computer.  Also I think I must have some kind of virus because I am either dizzy or exhausted.  (No, I am not pregnant).

Also, please pray for Adam. He has an interview with a senior pastor of a church plant near by.  They will be having lunch tomorrow (Friday).

Answered prayer

We had been praying for God's direction when it comes to a job for Adam.  We wanted a clear cut answer.  Well we are one step closer to knowing the path God is sending us on.

We just received notice that the church in Emporia has decided to seek someone with more pastoral experience.  They also were concerned with Adam commuting back and forth for school or pastoring.

While this is a major let down because we have invested a lot of time in this church plant, it is also the clear cut answer we are seeking.   We will continue to seek God's will for your life.  Until then we are waiting. (I just hope an answer is coming soon)

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty."

getting cooler

OK So I think we missed fall.  I am rather depressed about it.  I love fall.  I was hoping to talk Adam in to taking us to a pumpkin patch.  We shall see.  Naomi has a runny nose right now so I really don't want to chance anything.

Lately, Adam And I have been marveling at how much of a little girl Nomi is turning in to.  She is adorable in her new jacket.  I love it!  It has pants that match, however she is not yet in to the 18 month pants.  Silly Girl.

My girl is 18month as of yesterday!  I still have not figured out where to take her for her shots.  One of the Sunday school teachers at the church we attend  is a family practice doctor. So I will probably take her there.  I really do not like finding new doctors.  Especially since we will probably not be in this area for too much longer.

As for a job update...It is slow going.  But Adam has a potential part-time job in the works.  Please pray for us.  We are still in a place of transition.  We have a lot of stress and a lot of unknown.  Particularly for timing.  I have a feeling we are going to be doing some more waiting.

Fingerprint Friday

One of my new favorite pictures. Adam did a pretty good job!

I love Naomi's kisses. She just recently started to give Adam and I kisses. Before that her kisses were for the cat the dog and for baby Jesus in her Bible. I truly love her kisses. This was also a great trip to the park. While we were there we experienced God move in some awesome ways. A door we thought was shut, came open again. A true answer to prayer.

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the LORD...
Jeremiah 29:11-14a

I interrupt this vacation to make an important announcement...

So we are stepping out in faith and we are moving to KC(area). It may not be the wisest thing but we feel this is what we are supposed to do. We have been semi-planing on heading in that direction. We just wanted a job first. Well while we were on our mini vacation we decided to through the "logical plan" out the window (The window, the second story window... Sorry flash back to scouts).

Anyway...

So now here is the plan.

Adam just submitted his part of the application to get in to Midwest Baptist Theological Seminary. He does not have a job currently but we have faith that this is the path we are to take. It is rather scary but while I was talking to Adam last night we decided it is rather "safe" too. We should hear if he was accepted in about two weeks at the earliest. Then we will then proceed to find an apartment/rental (we have a few feelers out), pack up, move in, and settle in. All before classes start on August 24(ish). I think we are in for a wild ride! We really covet any prayers you offer.

There are many "backup" plans that could occur. Here are a few of them...

Right now we are also looking at a Youth minister position that would pay him in Missouri. It would basically cover rent and gas (he would have to commute either to the church or to school). This would also probably mean we would move to but still close to Missouri. the distance would be similar to when we were in Halstead.

He has also talked to an engineering temp firm to get some temporary and part time position somewhere.

And if worse comes to worse I could go back to work. I know of a great daycare there that I could probably work at and take Naomi to. (It was where my sister and I went). Or I could work else ware.

We have no idea what is going to happen in the next month or so. We are just leaning on the fact that we are safe in God's hands.

For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Jeremiah 29:11

Many are the plans in a man's heart,
but it is the LORD's purpose that prevails.
Proverbs 19:21

Photo note...
I love this tree. The middle had been burned out (probably form a lightning strike!)
But the tree is still very much alive!

Fourth of July!

Our forth was wonderful. We took the long way to Abeline where we have our yearly Boyd Forth/Birthday party. I made the usual dream pie and I also made this beauty...

This is my watermelon cake. I am a bit proud of it. I have been dieing to make it for a while now. It is actually watermellon flavered! But any way...

We realy enjoyed being with Adam's family. We are currently still at his dad's house (with a crazy computer). So when we get back I am sure we will have a lot to share.

Job update: Adam just got a call from MRI in KC. He had a phone interview a I mentioned a few post ago. Well they thought he was great. thought he would have been a great match with the group and would have filled the position well. BUT... (I hate that word) They reevaluated the position (It was part time) and decided to pass out the responsabilities to some of the employees. Grrr. So please pray for Adam(and me). His (our)heart was really set on that job. We know God has his plan. My prayer for us is is this Psalm. God is good.
